romir/gemiusAudience: Runet highlights in November

Gemius presents new data for Russian Internet audience measurement, a project conducted together with the Russian research agency Romir. November results contain data for 54 web sites.
The total reach in November was 4.56 million visitors (real users) with over 20 million visits made. This is equal to 22.75% of the whole Runet audience. A sample of the research was 19 900 filled out questionnaires.
The web sites participating in the project cover a wide range of topics. There are news portals (eg. topnews.ru and runewswek.ru); financial and accounting services (banki.ru, klerk.ru, glavbukh.ru), video hosting (myvi.ru and teledu.ru); sites about cars (bibika.ru, carexpert.ru) and more. We can view the cumulative audience of all of these sites by the users’ level of education.
Most of the users – 39.13% - have a higher education (including science degrees and MBAs). Which web sites are preferred by the most well-educated Internet users from Russia? We can see it by such indicator as Audience composition:

The financial portal bankir.ru came in first place. Second place was taken by a web site dedicated to customs services - tks.ru. Both web sites are sources of quite narrow topics. It is significant to note that the satirical magazine - Krokodil (krakadil.ru) - is also in a leading position with a 60% share of well-educated users.
According to user distribution, 68.7% of the users have professional experience in one or another occupation. Therefore, we can see which industries are most represented in the Internet in Russia.
The leader (after the “Other” option) is the construction/real-estate sector. It is surprising that information technology came in only in 4th place, after retail companies and governmental (!) institutions. Also a limit of 5% reached financial sector and services sphere.
We remind you that in the Romir/gemiusAudience research study all results are presented according to the "real users" calculation algorithm, which is far more precise than the "cookie" number estimations. In addition, the study presents a detailed socio-demographic profile of Internet users in Russia. At the moment we continue the process of the main software panel recruitment and therefore the data contains only the ranking of the participating web sites. When the recruitment process is completed, we expect to publish full results including all of the most visited online resources on the Russian Internet. The test data files are available free upon sending a respective request to our local representatives.
